Coach Smart has been on the road for the past two days appearing at UGA Day events. At stops in Macon and Columbus, the first year head coach was asked about Georgia’s running backs and their utilization by new offensive coordinator, Jim Chaney.
We want to be explosive, we want to have really fast backs – to have guys that can do really special things. I think Coach Cheney has a lot of experience using guys like that. He has had the power backs, the big thick guys and he has had very fast athletic guys.
In Columbus, Smart was asked about the progress of Columbus-area native Tae Crowder:
Tae’s done a great job for us. Tae’s gotten a lot bigger and a lot more physical. he picked up the offense pretty quick. he got a lot of reps this spring. um he got to carry the ball. i think he’s starting to run with better pad level. and we’re excited about what he can do.
