Depth is a problem for Georgia as spring practice begins its third week.
“Offense is definitely ahead of the defense. We’re struggling a little bit defensively. On the defensive line, we just don’t have as much depth and we are not as physical as we need to be…We definitely need some help on the depth of the defensive line.”
Part of the problem with defensive line depth is the minor knee injury suffered by Michael Barnett. Smart said that Barnett is expected to “be fine” but his absence from practice is creating depth issues for the Dawgs. Georgia lost two defensive linemen (John Atkins and Trenton Thompson) but has only one recruit arriving to restock the position group.
