Kirby Smart has expressed his apprehension about UGA’s special teams since the earliest days of his tenure. Now, at least, he can say that progress has been made.

I am with Coach Smart here. Special teams make me nervous going into 2016, which let’s face it is a carry over from the last couple of years.
Outside of Isaiah McKenzie returning punts for Georgia, last year’s special teams were a crap shoot.
Reggie Davis would have a nice punt return, he did return one for a TD against the Vols, but then he would follow that up with a not-so-good, cringe worthy play.
Kicking and punting were both inconsistent as well.
Hopefully, with more focus and attention on special teams, those concerns along with the cringe worthy mistakes will be things of the past and special teams can be a strength of this 2016 Georgia team
BD_illustrated As fans we were scared to death on every special teams play the last 3 seasons, so expectations are low.
