The Lady Bulldogs racked up their fifth road loss of the season to Missouri Thursday night 61-35 in Columbia, Missouri. Georgia still leads the series 8-5 and won the last meeting 55-41.

The Lady Bulldogs put only 35 points up on the board, making this their lowest scoring game of the season. Before this game, the women were averaging 68.5 points per game whereas the Tigers were only averaging 66.1.

Georgia’s star shooter, Caliya Robinson made a low 12 points and 8 rebounds tonight for her team. Behind her in points was recent SEC Player of the Week, Donnetta Johnson with seven on the board.

Missouri came onto the court fired up after a close loss to Florida 58-56 on Sunday. Senior guard for the Tigers, Sophie Cunningham said in a post-game interview with SEC Network that they learned from that loss. She scored a total of 23 points against the Lady Bulldogs. That is 14 points more than Missouri guard Amber Smith who had nine.

Georgia could not seem to hold onto the ball in Columbia. They had 20 turnovers allowing Missouri to dominate ball possession. Another area where Georgia was weak was in the paint. Missouri had 20 baskets made in the paint while Georgia only had eight.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 3-2 in the SEC and 12-6 overall. They are set to play Texas A&M at 4:00pm eastern time on Sunday January 2oth at home.
