[su_spacer size=”40″] Shacobia Barbee fell just two assists shy of a triple-double, finishing the contest with 11 points, 11 rebounds and eight helpers. It would have been her second triple-double this season. Instead, the contest was her 14th career double-double. Freshman Caliya Robinson also had a double-double, the first of her young career, scoring 17 points and pulling in 10 rebounds.
[su_spacer size=”40″] A strong team effort, the Lady Bulldogs had six players in double-figure scoring for the first time since beating Memphis on Nov. 29, 2006. Griffin, Barbee, Robinson, Mackenzie Engram, Merritt Hempe and Amber Skidgel all passed the 10-point barrier. The 55-point margin was the highest for the Lady Bulldogs since Dec. 17, 2007, a 102-45 win over Mercer.

A night like tonight, everybody shared the ball and chipped in on offense.”[su_spacer size=”40″] Marjorie Butler came out firing, scoring seven points in the first four minutes of the game as Georgia jumped on top 10-2 before the first break in action. It was the Robinson show after the Owl timeout as the frosh scored 10 of the next 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs as the team built its lead to 23-7 and remained on top 23-14 at the end of one.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Like the first quarter it was all Georgia to start, with a 7-0 run pushing the Georgia lead to 31-14. After five straight points from the visitors, the Lady Bulldogs got four points in a span of nine seconds when Hempe scored and Butler intercepted the ensuing inbound pass and cashed in on an easy layup for a 35-19 cushion. The Bulldogs kept the clamps on defensively the rest of the half, holding KSU scoreless for the final 4:38, and went into the locker room up 42-20.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Griffin made history early in the third, nailing a three from the wing to reach 1,000 career points. The senior guard was part of an offensive onslaught coming out of halftime as Georgia relentlessly built its lead to 70-28 at the end of the third, a 28-8 score for the quarter. The frame ended with Barbee just two assists short of a triple-double.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Lady Dogs held Kennesaw State to only six points in the game’s final quarter, finishing the game 89-34.
