After an extremely slow start in the first half, the Lady Bulldogs (20-3) were able to cruise past Ole Miss (11-12) 69-45. The win puts Georgia in the same position as Mississippi State as the only two SEC teams with 20 wins in the season thus far.

The first half was not kind to the Bulldogs as they committed 9 turnovers and trailed the Rebels who are last in the Southeastern Conference standings (1-9). Nobody was able to get comfortable early and it showed as the Bulldogs were held to only 28 points in the first half.

The defense was also lackluster giving up 31 points to the Rebels. The team struggled as Shelby Gibson of Missouri collected 10 points in the first half. The big body in the paint gave Georgia early fits, but in the second half, the game completely changed.

Georgia dominated the third quarter going on a 20-8 run and never looked back forcing Ole Miss to its season-high 28 turnovers. The Lady Bulldogs completely controlled the remainder of the game and the Bulldogs leading scorers Caliya Robinson and Mackenzie Engram were able to get relaxed.

“We stopped shooting jumpers and got the ball inside,” Taylor said. “Mackenzie did an incredible job of running the floor to give us some easy buckets in transition to get us back in the game and give us the lead.”

Georgia was able to hold Ole Miss to 45 points, tying for the Rebels’ lowest season mark. Despite starting slow Robinson scored 18 points while Engram dropped 17 points to help put the game out of reach and attributed to over half the Lady Bulldogs total points.

With only a handful of games left to be played the Bulldogs seem to be headed to the NCAA tournament. The Lady Dogs will now face Vanderbilt at home on Thursday a team it has already beaten once this season easily 81-52.
