Seven season-highs were recorded by Georgia gymnasts, but it wasn’t enough to beat third-ranked LSU as the Tigers won 198.075-196.850 Friday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
[break] [break] Georgia (2-4, 2-2 SEC) scored a season-high 49.425 on vault and trailed by .175 at the halfway point, but LSU sealed the win with a 49.625 in each of the last two rotations.
[break] [break] “Vault was much improved, and that was good to see,” said UGA coach Danna Durante. “We had a little bit of a rough start on bars, and floor and beam also could’ve been stronger. A 196.850 will still help us, but we have to be better. We have to get stronger on all four events. We just left a little too much on the floor.”
