It’s been just a short two days since National Signing Day, and the red and black recruiting machine is still full steam ahead. , UGA picked up another quarterback for 2017 when Stetson Bennett IV announced his decision to commit to the Bulldogs on Friday morning. Get ready Dawg Nation, the ‘Mail Man’ cometh.

The Pierce County High School senior had scholarship offers from Columbia University, Georgia Southern, Mercer, and Middle Tennesee State but chose instead to accept a preferred walk-on offer from Georgia. Although 247 Sports rates Bennett a 3-star prospect and the 72nd best Pro-Style quarterback for 2017, his opponents may disagree somewhat. The ‘Mail Man’ earned his nickname. According to MaxPreps, he threw for 6,648 yards and 58 touchdowns to 16 interceptions completing 63.3 % of his passes over his junior and senior seasons with the Bears. He also rushed for 1,073 yards on the ground, adding 17 touchdowns and averaging 7.3 yards per carry.
Bennett not only flashes his athletic ability on the football field, but is a triple threat, also baseball and basketball for Pierce County High School.

With ‘The Mail Man’s’ commitment, they add three quarterbacks to the roster which also include Jake Fromm and another preferred walk-on, John Seter. Georgia now has 8 preferred walk-ons and 2 walk-ons in addition to the 6 early enrollees and 20 signees for the 2017 college football recruiting class.
