The Georgia women’s golf team and junior Manuela Carbajo Ré are 12th on the team and individual leaderboards, respectively, following Monday’s second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The 54-hole event is being contested at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Country Club.

Carbajo Ré provided the Bulldogs’ low score for the second consecutive day, signing for a 2-over 74. Georgia, which shot 313 as a team, also counted a 77 from Harang Lee and a pair of 81s from Amira Alexander and Isabella Skinner.
[break] [break] Cabajo Ré is at 3-over 143 through 36 holes, just four shots off of second place. Iowa State’s Chonlada Chayanun owns a massive eight-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard.
[break] [break] In addition for Georgia, Lee is tied for 41st at 153, Alexander is tied for 57th at 157, Skinner is tied for 69th at 162 and Rocio Sanchez Lobato is tied for 77th at 164.
[break] [break] “We’re looking at tomorrow as a one-day tournament,” head coach Josh Brewer said. “We would like to finish tomorrow strong, try to put up the low round of the day and create some momentum going into our next event. We have to do a better job of knowing when to attack and when to try to just make par. If we do that, we can put ourselves in position to have a low round tomorrow and try to finish as high as we can.”
