Mark Richt Gets Contract Extension, Raise

University of Georgia head football coach Mark Richt will receive a contract extension and raise according to an announcement by UGA J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity following a conference call Wednesday with the Executive Committee of the Athletic Association Board of Directors.

The Executive Committee approved a recommendation by McGarity to extend the head coach’s contract by two years which will tie Richt to Georgia through the 2019 season.  He will also receive a new annual compensation in the amount of $4 million. His previous compensation was $3.2 million annually.

“We are very pleased with the direction of our program under Mark’s leadership,” said McGarity.  “Mark and his staff are making significant strides in all areas of our program, and we look forward to great things in the years to come.”
