Mark Richt mentioned that although the team may need a few more practices to fine tune everything to completely be ready, they are still ready to play Saturday. Right started off by talking about the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks football team and their experience against SEC schools in the past.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Mark Richt also highlighted that this team is not one of the bigger teams that he has coached during his tenure at UGA but although that could be a concern he thinks that this team has a lot of potential and that being more in shape could help the Dawgs finish the drill and play hard for four quarters. They’re not gonna be intimidated by the Georgia Bulldogs, They’re not gonna be intimidated coming Between the Hedges. We’re gonna have to earn their respect… We want to be the toughest mentally and toughest physical team in college football, That’s how we have been trying to train since January.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Coach Richt went ahead and gave a brief injury update on a few of the players and how they plan on managing their injuries for the next game. We’re probably the lightest team we’ve had since I’ve been at Georgia, which is a little bit of a concern when you play some of the bigger, heavier team that wanna hit you in the mouth but i think that we are in tremendous condition… When you’re in good shape you can play harder longer.

[su_spacer size=”40″] He also highlighted a few specific players who were trying to overcome some ailments and mentioned that first team Mike-linebacker Reggie Carter may be very limited for the next game. We’re in pretty good shape, a couple guys with Hammys (hamstring injuries) we’re trying to be careful with trying to make sure they are really read. You don’t want another setback. If you pull a hamstring a second time, it takes a toll on the kid psychologically and it tends to last a little longer the second time.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Mark Richt reiterated that Lambert did not pull away from the other QB’s and that they will probably play more than one QB against ULM. Mark Richt did have a funny moment when talking about the announcement concerning who would be Georgia’s starting quarterback. He told the team after practice and this is what he said after he told the team that Greyson Lambert was the starting quarterback. The guys coming off the knee surgeries, Jonathan Ledbetter and Tim Kimbrough. Reggie Carter’s shoulder is a little sore, I’m not sure if he’ll play this week or not. Right now though everybody seems to be extremely healthy.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Mark Richt highlighted that outside linebacker Davin Bellamy and Domenick Sanders had very strong camps and even said the Sanders had the best camp in his opinion. If I can’t get from here to the media and be able to announce it without somebody tweeting it out, G.A.T.A, G- A- after his T- A-
[su_spacer size=”40″] Richt also mentioned that freshman Jackson Harris was challenging Jay Rome for the second string tight end spot. He did not say that Harris had over taken Rome but that he was vying for that spot.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Isaiah Mckenzie can be listed as questionable or probable. He is one of the players who has been dealing with Hamstring issues and he said that he feels like he’ll play but if he does not play it is because they are just being cautious with him. Tim Kimbrough is also questionable because of his knee and it is a possibility that he may miss Saturday
[su_spacer size=”40″] Coach Richt called Nick Chubb a machine and that he was quiet, humble and he is a guy that just comes in and puts in work. He talked about Leonard Floyd as the same type of guy.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Richt believes that a lot of the freshman will have a little playing time. Players he specifically mentioned include Michael Chigbu, Terry Godwin, Jayson Stanley, Shaquery Wilson, Jackson Harris Trenton Thompson, and Roquan Smith.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Richt said that the other starting CB spot is up for grabs and that the three guys that have locked down starting spots are safeties Quincy Mauger and Domenick Sanders and cornerback Aaron Davis, who was just recently put on scholarship.
