The Bulldogs had a dismal 23-point first half but were able to get it together in the second half and pull off a 59-57 win over the Texas Longhorns.
 
 

This game was definitely the tale of two halves as the Bulldogs started the game slow, but really got it going in the second half. It was as if the Bulldogs and Longhorns came to an agreement that the Longhorns would take the first half and the Bulldogs could have the second. This is because the Longhorns outscored the Bulldogs 32-23 in the first half and the Bulldogs outscored the Longhorns 36-25 in the second half.
 
 
If I had to point to one key stat in the game, it would have to be the amount of free throw shots the Bulldogs made in their victory. The Bulldogs went 17-22 from the charity stripe while their opponents only knocked down 7 of their 13 free throws. Scoring 10 more points than your opponent in an area like free throws is definitely a key stat and it played a huge role in the Bulldogs victory.
 
 
JJ Frazier and Yante Maten both had outstanding games, but if I had to point to one star of the game it would have to be Maten. Maten led the Bulldogs in the areas of points with 21, rebounds with 7, and steals with 2, while also going 9-12 from the charity stripe.
 
 
Maten has been a steady force for the Bulldogs this season and they will need him to play consistently well for the rest of the season if they hope to make a push for the NCAA tournament.
