The Georgia Men’s Basketball team is on a four-game losing streak after their loss Wednesday night to No. 25 ranked LSU in Baton Rouge 92-82. The Bulldogs are now 9-9 overall and 1-5 in the SEC and their schedule is not getting any easier.

Georgia started off the game hot, as they usually do, with a couple free throws, a layup, a three-pointer from Rayshaun Hammonds and two from Nicolas Claxton. Just over five minutes into the first half the Tigers took the lead with a three-point shot from Ja’vonte Smart and never gave it up.

What the Bulldogs lacked in the first half besides points was assists. Because of Georgia’s lack of a solid point guard there was not anyone there to help the team’s high scorers get the ball. Although the shooting percentages were very close in number, the team shot nine fewer field goals than LSU, meaning that UGA did not get their hands on the ball as often as their opponent.

The second half started out 48-39 Tigers but the Bulldogs found some momentum. Hammonds made his second and last three-pointer of the night and Turtle Jackson sunk his only attempt. LSU fought back putting up an eight-point run before the scoring once again began to alternate.

Although the relatively high-scoring game ended badly for Georgia, they did however beat their average field goal (.452) and three-point (.317) percentage with .54 and .47 respectively.

The Bulldogs are set to take on the Big 12’s Texas at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Athens, Ga.
