Former University of Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman, Jr. had his first career NFL touchdown for Kansas City in the Chiefs’ game versus the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Hardman was part of the Bulldogs’ 2016 recruiting class, Kirby Smart’s first after being hired as UGA’s new Head Coach, signing out of Elbert County High School in Bowman, GA. Hardman started out as a cornerback on defense as a freshman before switching over to receiver on offense the spring of his sophomore year.

Hardman would play in all 15 of Georgia’s game at wide receiver for the 2017 season, hauling in 25 catches for 418 yards and touchdowns as well as 8 rushing attempts for 61 yards and two scores. In 2018, Hardman improved on his sophomore numbers with 35 receptions for 532 yards and 7 touchdowns in 14 games.

After the 2018 season, Hardman decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft where he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round at pick No. 56 overall. Sunday’s game was Hardman’s second with the Chiefs, and he finished with 4 catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.
