The Georgia Bulldogs went into halftime trailing the Mississippi State Bulldogs 32-28, but their efforts in the second half led to a huge 79-72 comeback victory.
 
 

The Bulldogs relied on their three most experienced players to lead them to victory and they delivered. Yante Maten, Juwan Parker, and JJ Frazer were all in double-digits, with Maten leading the way with 24 points. Maten was also the Bulldogs leading rebounder with 9 which put him one away from a double-double.
 
 
Frazier’s night was outstanding as well because he started off on a cold streak which saw him go 0-6 from the field and not register a single point in the first 25:29 of the game. However, after that stretch, Frazier went 4-5 from the field with 3 three-pointers. Frazier also went perfect from the charity stripe. Although, Frazier may have not the most balanced and well-rounded game his hot play was a huge factor in the Bulldogs’ victory.
 
 
The big difference maker for the Bulldogs in this game was their ability to get to the free throw line. The Bulldogs got to the line 32 times and converted 28 of those attempts which was much more than their opponents, who only got to the line 9 times and converted 7 points. Such a huge disparity in points from the free-throw line was a big help for Georgia and their ability to take advantage of these opportunities led to their victory.
 
 
The Bulldogs have gotten on a little run after securing back-to-back victories against Tennessee and Mississippi State after a three-game losing skid and they will hope to go for the trifecta on Saturday against the Kentucky Wildcats. This is definitely the toughest game on the Bulldogs’ remaining schedule and they played them close last time so it’s possible for the Bulldogs to pull off the upset.
 
 
The Bulldogs’ desperately need a big win to help their tournament hopes, which are slim as of right now, but a win over a team like Kentucky could give them a huge boost. If the Bulldogs can receive the same production from Parker, Maten, and Frazier then they may be able to walk away victorious.
 
 
The Bulldogs continue their homestand with a game against the 11th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats Saturday. The tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN.
