The Georgia men’s basketball team returns home to Stegeman Coliseum to host the 13th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats for a 6:00 p.m. ET tipoff this evening. The Bulldogs are looking to continue to build momentum and extend a modest two-game winning streak.

 
 
On Tuesday night, Georgia scored 51 second-half points en route to a 79-72 home victory over Mississippi State. That win came three days after the Bulldogs rallied from a 14-point, second half deficit to defeat Tennessee, 76-75, in Knoxville.
 
 
Saturday’s game versus UK completes Georgia’s six outings against the top-three teams in the SEC standings – Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina. Six of the Bulldogs’ first 14 league games are against that trio.
 
 
Georgia improved to 15-11 overall and 6-7 in SEC play with the wins over UT and MSU.
 
 
Yante Maten, one of 10 players on the final watch list of the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award as the nation’s top center, leads the Bulldogs and is third in the SEC in scoring at 19.4 ppg. Maten notched his 24th double-digit scoring output and 10th 20-point performance of the season against Mississippi State.
 
 
J.J. Frazier is adding 16.6 ppg, which ranks No. 6 in the SEC, and currently leads the league in playing time, both overall (34.3 mpg) and in SEC play (36.7 mpg).
 
 
Maten, a junior forward, and Frazier, a senior guard, are one of the nation’s most potent inside-outside offensive tandems. Their combined average of 36.0 ppg ranks No. 9 nationally among guard-forward scoring duos with both players ranked among the nation’s top-250 scorers. They are the only teammates in the top-10 from a Power 5 conference.
 
 
In statistics for conference games only, Maten and Frazier currently rank No. 3 and No. 4 in the SEC in scoring at 18.9 ppg and 18.2 ppg, respectively.
 
 
Juwan ParkerClick here to hear it has been Georgia’s third-leading scorer for the majority of the season but has stepped up his production in league play. Parker averaged 8.0 ppg in non-conference play but is contributing 11.0 ppg in SEC action. That has upped his season average to 9.6 ppg.
 
 
Kentucky arrives in Athens at 21-5 overall and at 11-2 in the SEC.
 
 
Freshman Malik Monk is the SEC’s leading scorer at 21.7 ppg, while three more Wildcats score at a double-digit rate. De’Aaron Fox, who missed the first matchup between UGA and UK last month due to an illness, adds 15.6 ppg, while Isaiah Briscoe and Bam Adebayo chip in 13.8 ppg and 12.7 ppg, respectively.
