The Georgia men’s golf team stands 10th after two rounds of the SEC Championship at the Sea Island Golf Club.

 
 
On Friday, as the teams logged 36 holes on the par-70, 7,005-yard layout, the Bulldogs had loops of 11-over 291 and 9-over 289 for a total of 20-over 580.
 
 
Texas A&M grabbed the team lead at 5-under 555. Following Saturday’s 18 holes, the low eight teams will advance to match play on Sunday. The top eight after Friday were Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Florida, LSU, Alabama, Missouri, Auburn and South Carolina. The Gamecocks are 11 shots ahead of the Bulldogs for the eighth spot.
 
 
Senior Greyson Sigg paced the Bulldogs with a total of 3-under 137, including a 4-under 66 in the final round. Sigg had his second-round birdies in a four-hole span, Nos. 11-14. Sigg is fourth individually, four shy of Florida’s Alejandro Tosti.
 
 
“I thought Greyson played well today,” Georgia coach Chris Haack said. “He really got it going in the second round. He’s been a great senior leader for this young team all season and it would be nice to see him close it out on a high note on Saturday.”
 
 
Following Saturday’s round, the conference medalist will be crowned.
 
 
Also for the Bulldogs, freshman Trevor Phillips landed at 5-over 145, followed by freshman Spencer Ralston at 8-over 148, sophomore Tye Waller at 10-over 150 and sophomore Jack Larkin Jr. at 14-over 154.
