MEN’S GOLF: Georgia 5th at Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic

[su_spacer size=”20″] The 12th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team stands tied for fifth after one round of the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldogs fired a 1-over 285 at Ka’anapali Golf Course on Friday and they are nine shots behind Oklahoma’s 8-under 276. North Carolina State is second at 5-under 279, followed by Hawaii at 2-under 282 and South Carolina at even-par 284. Georgia is tied with Liberty and Cal State Northridge.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Senior Lee McCoy paced the Bulldogs at 4-under 67 and he stands tied for fourth, two shots in back of co-leaders Jonny Hogan of Long Beach State and Rylee Reinertson of Oklahoma.  Sophomore Zach Healy followed McCoy at 3-under 68 and he is tied for eighth.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Junior Greyson Sigg signed for an even-par 71, while redshirt freshman Jack Larkin Jr. carded an 8-over 79. Junior Jaime Lopez Rivarola had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score at 11-over 82. Playing as an individual and making his collegiate debut, redshirt freshman Matthew Beringer shot a 4-over 75.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic will continue on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday. Saturday’s action will begin with a 1:30 p.m. EST shotgun start and the Bulldogs will be paired with Loyola Marymount, Liberty and Cal State Northridge. Live results can be found at GolfStat.com.
