MEN’S GOLF: After Round Two, Georgia Still in 15th at Nike Collegiate Invitational

The Georgia men’s golf team remained in 15th place following the second round of the Nike Collegiate Invitational on Monday.

 
Playing the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s par-71, 7,017-yard layout on the Witch Hollow course, the Bulldogs fired a 1-under-par 283 to move to 15-over 582 for the tournament. Stanford has the team lead at 21-under 547, followed by Oklahoma at 19-under 549.
 
 
Sophomore Spencer Ralston led the Bulldogs on Monday as he signed for a 4-under 67 after finding six birdies during his round. Sophomore Trevor Phillips followed with a 3-under 68, including an eagle and two birdies, while sophomore Will Chandler and freshman Davis Thompson each posted a 3-over 74. Freshman John Hilliard Catanzaro had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 4-over 75.
 
 
Phillips improved to even-par 142 for the tournament. Stanford’s Brandon Wu holds the individual lead at 11-under 131. On Monday, Ralston moved to 1-over 143, followed by Thompson at 5-over 147, Chandler at 9-over 151 and Catanzaro at 12-over 154.
