The Georgia men’s golf team fell from first to second place after the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday at the Rio Mar Beach and Spa Resort.
 
 
The Bulldogs recorded a 2-under-par 286 and now trail leader Clemson by 7 strokes. The Puerto Rico Classic is the opening event of the spring portion of Georgia’s schedule.
 
 
“We made a lot of mistakes today but we were still able to get it under par,” said Georgia head coach Chris Haack. “We need to eliminate costly errors tomorrow and make a few more putts.”
 
 
Senior Jaime Lopez Rivarola paced the Bulldogs with a 3-under 69. He is currently in second place, three shots back of Clemson’s Bryson Nimmer.
 
 
The Bulldogs also got a pair of even-par 72s from freshman Spencer Ralston and sophomore Tye Waller. Waller is currently in a three-way tie for third place. Sophomore Jack Larkin Jr. and senior Greyson Sigg each shot 1-over 73, with only one counting.
 
 
On Tuesday, the teams will play the third and final round of the Puerto Rico Classic. Live scoring can be found on BirdieFire.com.
