TULSA, Okla. — Georgia men’s tennis sophomore Nathan Ponwith, who won three-straight matches heading into Sunday’s semifinals, fell to Texas A&M’s Valentine Vacherot to end his bid in the consolation draw of the 2017 Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships.

It took three sets for 93rd-ranked Vacherot to overtake the 32nd-ranked Ponwith as Vacherot hung on for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win.

The loss brings to a close Georgia’s run in this week-long event at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Bulldogs had an ITA All-American-best six players who participated in either the main draw singles or doubles draw.
