Sophomore Robert Loeb and junior Jan Zielinski are ranked No. 2 nationally in doubles, while five Georgia singles players are featured in the first edition of the 2017 Oracle/ITA Rankings that were released on TuesdayHad to.
 
 
Loeb and Zielinski, who were both named to the ITA All-America team and spent most of last season ranked No. 1 nationally, sit only behind the Wake Forest duo of Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim.
 
 
The pair is coming off a title in the main draw of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships to start the fall campaign — this coming after advancing to the NCAA doubles championship match with a 24-10 overall record in 2017. During their impressive run a year ago, Loeb and Zielinski recorded five wins against the other nine doubles duos that made up the final ITA top-10.
 
 
Joining Georgia’s top doubles pair in the latest rankings are the Bulldog tandems of Nathan Ponwith and Emil Reinberg (No. 22) as well as Walker Duncan and Wayne Montgomery (No. 53).
 
 
On the singles side, Montgomery is the highest-ranked Bulldog at the No. 21 spot. He is followed by Reinberg (No. 30), Ponwith (No. 32), Duncan (No. 101) and Zielinski (No. 102).
 
 
Each letterwinner from last year’s Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championship team returns after leading the Bulldogs to the semifinals of the 2017 NCAA’s in Athens.
 
 
Georgia finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 7 nationally in the final Oracle/ITA Team Rankings. It marked the seventh-straight year the Bulldogs have finished with a top-10 ranking. Under head coach Manuel Diaz, Georgia has finished in the top-10 an impressive 26 times in 29 years, including top-25 finishes each and every season.
