The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team have many new faces on their roster and these new players are showing off their talents in the Bulldogs Fall World Series.
 
 

The Red and Black teams faced off in game two of this Fall World Series, with the Red Team leading the series 1-0 after winning the first game with a score of 5-1.
 
 
The scoring in game two started much like the first game, with freshman shortstop Cam Shepherd getting the first two runs on the board with a two-run home run that was just barely out of the reach of the Black team’s right fielder Riley King, who had a defensive gem in game one.
 
 
Shepherd has had an impressive series thus far and will be looking to close out the series just as strong as he started it.
 
 
Another new face that continued his impressive run through the first two games was junior outfielder Will Campbell, who got on base tonight every time he came up.
 
 
However, Campbell ended the night as one for one with three walks but his ability to draw so many walks shows that he has great plate discipline and that should definitely be commended.
 
 
In the bottom of the second, the Black squad was able to tie up the game off the bat of junior shortstop Trey Logan, who hit an RBI double down the left field line.
 
 
The Black team was able to keep their run scoring going with a two-run bomb to right center by junior outfielder Keegan McGovern, who also had a double when the infielders could not find his popup in the lights.
 
 

 
 
A few other young faces stood out on both squads but freshman James Williams was one young guy that had an outstanding game.
 
 
Williams came in to relieve Black team sophomore starting pitcher Kevin Smith, who was a bit shaky at first but settled down some as the game progressed.
 
 
Williams took over after Smith’s 3 and 1/3 innings pitched and Williams was a strikeout machine for the Black team, with all five of his outs being strikeouts.
 
 
However, Williams did give up one run, but other than that his performance was stellar.
 
 
The Black team would never look back after scoring four runs and those runs proved to be enough to hold off the Red team and lead to a victory of 4-3.
 
 
This 4-3 victory evened up the series for the Black squad and pivotal game three will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Foley Field.
 
 
Each side has had young faces stand out and that is definitely encouraging for Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Scott Stricklin, who understands he has a young but talented squad in front of him.
 
 

 
 
This team still has a lot of work to do and has improvements that need to be made, but this team should contend and will be exciting to watch when the season gets underway.
