The final month is underway for the Dawgs recruiting team as National Signing Day closely approaches. Georgia currently has 22 commits for the 2017 class, and they’re looking to add a few more between now and February 1st. Here are five possible pickups Georgia could grab in the next month.

 

Markaviest Bryant:

 

 

According to Rivals.com, Markaviest “Big Cat” Bryant is a three-star weakside defensive end. He can also play at linebacker. Bryant stands at 6’5 and 228 pounds and would be a versatile guy for the Dawgs to pick up. He recently competed in the Under-Armor All-American Game where he recorded a sack. Big Cat’s final teams are LSU, UGA, and Auburn. I feel like Georgia has the upper hand due to the amount of visits taken throughout the season and due to the fact he is an in-state player. He could decide anytime between now and Signing Day.

Leonard Warner:

 

 

Warner is another in-state recruit that Georgia could pick up. According to Rivals.com, he is a four-star inside linebacker from Brookwood that stands at 6’3 and 220 pounds. Rivals rank him as the No. 20 inside linebacker in the state of Georgia and the No. 5 best prospect at his position. He has been associated with a few of the 2017 commits, as he was on the same team with Richard LeCounte III at The Opening earlier in the year. Warner has narrowed his decision down to the Dawgs and Stanford and could decide anytime between now and Signing Day.

Jamyest Williams:

 

 

Currently committed to the University of South Carolina, Jamyest Williams is still on the list for Georgia. According to Rivals, Williams is a four-star athlete. He played at wide receiver and cornerback this past season which means he could be an asset for Georgia at either position. Georgia recently picked up a commit from a former teammate of his, Deangelo Gibbs. The two are close friends, and with help from other commits, Williams could be persuaded. Flipping Williams could be a long shot for the Dawgs, but I wouldn’t count him out until he signs his letter-of-intent.

Aubrey Solomon:

 

 

Another in-state prospect for the Dawgs comes with five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. Rival’s has him ranked as the No. 3 prospect from the state of Georgia and the third best defensive tackle in the 2017 class. Solomon stands at 6’4 and 287 pounds and could make an impact early for the Dawgs. The final two teams in the running for this high-caliber prospect are Georgia and Alabama. I believe that Georgia has the upper hand because of early playing time opportunities. Solomon is someone Georgia has high on their list. If the Bulldogs could get a late push here, Solomon could be wearing red and black in August.

Nico Collins:

 

 

As Signing Day approaches Nico Collins has yet to decide on a school. Collins is a wide receiver out of Clay, AL. and according to Rivals is a four-star prospect. He is 6’5 and 192 pounds, which is one of the reasons he is such a high commodity. Georgia needs bigger targets to throw to, and Collins is just that. With his height and big hands, he could make an impact at Georgia early. Collins could choose Georgia for the early playing time opportunities. Plus, Georgia having Jacob Eason at quarterback slinging balls through the air to him could also be beneficial for picking up Collins, as he could become an early favorite.  Another long shot for the Dawgs, but I like their chances.

Out of these five players, I think that Georgia has a shot to land at least three of them. Even adding just one of the five names could benefit the already phenomenal recruiting class Georgia is building. The last month of recruiting is underway, and it could get interesting for the Dawgs.
