Georgia’s Nicolas Fink has been chosen as the SEC Male Swimmer of the Week, according to an announcement Tuesday by the league office.
Fink is the third Bulldog to receive the honor this season, joining Chase Kalisz (twice) and Matias Koski.
In No. 3 Georgia¹s meet with No. 1 Texas on Saturday, Fink won two individual races and was on two victorious relays. He swept the breaststroke races as he took the 100 in 53.58 and the 200 in 1:55.19. Fink helped the 200 medley relay win in 1:27.06, which is the fastest dual-meet time and ninth overall in school history. Fink anchored the 400 freestyle relay that touched first in 2:56.19.
The Bulldogs will return to action Jan. 24 at Tennessee. Fink and his fellow seniors will be recognized before Georgia’s home finale against Emory on Jan. 31.
