Georgia will travel to Los Angeles for a date with Oklahoma on January 1, 2018 in the Rose Bowl. The game appears to boil down to a test of wills between the offensive wizardry of Oklahoma’s Air Raid-based offense led by quarterback Baker Mayfield, and Georgia’s hard-nosed, bust-em-in-the-mouth defense with Butkus Award winner Roquan Smith leading the charge.
 
 
While I am reasonably confident that the Bulldog defense can slow the Sooners’ vaunted offense, it may be the offense that saves the day for the Dawgs. A consistent ground game that wears-out Oklahoma’s defense, controls the ball for long drives that burn the clock and end with points and, most importantly, turns Mayfield and Company into spectators, could carry the day for Georgia. Of course, winning both sides of the ball would be even better.
