Georgia’s Olivia Ball added another event to her NCAA Championships schedule during the Zone B Diving Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Tuesday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Ball advanced to the NCAAs on the 3-meter springboard on Monday and needed a top-12 effort to qualify on 1-meter Tuesday. She rolled up a two-round total of 567.35 points (274.15 in the first round, 293.20 in the second) to come in ninth. She can now compete on both boards at the NCAAs, which will be held March 19-21 in Greensboro, N.C.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Darcie O’Brien placed 33rd with 228.65 points and Kelly Thatcher came in 42nd with 216.20 points. O’Brien and Thatcher will attempt to qualify for the NCAAs on platform on Wednesday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] In the men’s 3-meter on Tuesday, Ian Forlini came in 10th with 714.35 points, followed by Crawford Berry in 15th with 654.95 points and Walker Wheeler in 30th with 253.60 points. The top eight divers advanced to the NCAAs, which will be held March 26-28 in Iowa City, Iowa. Wheeler will attempt to qualify for the NCAAs on Wednesday on platform.
