Outsiders will look at the Bulldogs upcoming matchup with Vanderbilt as a revenge game to avenge their 17-16 loss to the Commodores last season, but Christian Payne does not see it that way.

 
The Bulldogs are off to an undefeated start that has them sitting at the number five spot in the Associated Press Poll and this added hype could lead to the team growing comfortable and buying into their own hype. However, Payne made it known that the team is taking each game one at a time, but you would think this upcoming matchup with the Commodores would be a game the team had circled on their calendars.
 
 
The Bulldogs fell to the Commodores after struggles in multiple facets of the game but especially in special teams. These struggles led to their one-point loss and had to leave a bad taste in the Bulldogs’ mouths. This looks like a prime revenge game for this group of players, but Christian Payne is just focused on taking one game at a time.
 
 

“I will say this, the game last year and all that, last year is last year. This is the next game. This is the most important game, we’re ready to play,” said Payne. “I think that we don’t really think of it as a revenge game, it’s just the next game that’s most important.”

 
 
Christian Payne has played an integral part in the Bulldogs offensive success as most of it has come on the ground. The Bulldogs are ranked 21st overall in the country with their rushing offense as they average 237.4 rushing yards per game. As the Bulldogs get ready to face the Commodores 107th ranked rush defense, Payne should pave the way for this talented running back corps to yet another big day.
