The Georgia Bulldogs worked out for 2 1/2 hours at Sanford Stadium on Saturday morning in their third practice of the spring session.
Today’s workout was the team’s first of the spring in pads, as will 11 of the remaining 12 practices. The Bulldogs displayed an energy level typical of a first day where hitting is included, according to their head coach.
‘I was proud of the effort they gave,” said Kirby Smart afterward. ”We put on pads for the first time and they practiced their tails off and competed. I was very pleased with the kids’ effort and toughness. We’re still in ‘installation’ mode where we’re building things in. But overall, I’m pleased with the effort and please with some of the results today.’
The Bulldogs will resume spring practices next Tuesday with a workout at the Club Sports complex on South Milledge Avenue. Georgia’s 15 practices will culminate with the annual G-Day intrasquad game on Saturday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m.
