Kirby Smart conducted his first spring practice as the head coach of the University of Georgia yesterday and there were more than a few changes for the team. The most obvious being the location of spring practice opening day.
Players and a throng of media were transported to the new home for Georgia practices, the Club Sports Complex off South Milledge Avenue. The facility features three 85-yard fields (two natural grass fields and one synthetic turf field). Last year one would have found the Rugby team inhabiting the area where American football skills are now being learned. Club Sports may have been displaced but they will benefit from the improvements that the football team will leave behind when it moves back to Butts-Mehre and its new indoor practice facility in 2017.
