The Bulldogs got pretty banged up against the Kentucky Wildcats last Saturday and these injuries have seemed to linger on deep into practice this week.

The Bulldogs will be facing one of their tougher opponents in the No.9 Auburn Tigers on Saturday, but the Bulldogs injury report could make this game even tougher. By my count, There are 8 Bulldogs that have been dealing with some form of injury since the Kentucky game. These players are offensive tackle Tyler Catalina, defensive tackle Trenton Thompson, wide receiver Jayson Stanley, wide receiver Reggie Davis, wide receiver Javon Wims, defensive tackle Daquan Hawkins-Muckle, inside linebacker Natrez Patrick, and inside linebacker Ryan Rankin.

Out of these 8 players, two have been practicing with no limitation and they are Trenton Thompson and Tyler Catalina. Out of the remaining 6, one has been ruled out already for the next game and that is wide reciever Jayson Stanley.

In my opinion, Daquan Hawkins-Muckle should be moved from the questionable category to the doubtful category as he has not been able to do anything more than work on a bike and has had a boot on his left leg, throughout the week.

That leaves four players who are questionable for the Auburn game but I believe they look good to go. I fully believe that Ryan Rankin, Natrez Patrick, Javon Wims, and Reggie Davis will be able to go this weekend against Auburn, but if they are unable to go here are a few players who I think may take their spot. Out of all the positions that are the hardest to project, Ryan Rankin’s is at the top of the list for me because special teams could take any number of players, perhaps another linebacker or defensive back could take his place on special teams.

If Natrez Patrick is unable to go then Senior Reggie Carter would be the favorite to take his starting role. However, I also think Juwan Taylor would see some increased time on defense, which would be interesting to see due to Taylor’s lack of playing time this season.

If Reggie Davis and Javon Wims are unable to go then I think we would definitely see more time for freshman Riley Ridley and Tyler Simmons. Ridley has seen a good bit of playing time throughout the season, but is not one of the Bulldogs normal starters. On the other hand, Simmons just got his first catch last week, but did a good job nonetheless.

Seeing how the Bulldogs deal with all of these injuries will be interesting to see in this crucial game against the Auburn Tigers.
