[su_spacer size=”40″] Even though Quayvon states he hates himself and the current Georgia team being compared to the 2012 Georgia squad, he does talk about one thing that both teams have in common.Yeah. I didn’t play much in that game; so, physically I didn’t understand, but from the mental aspect . . . when you see guys working so hard . . . you don’t come out on top, it’s kind of disappointing. A lot of guys won’t understand that. I think this senior class, we do; so, we just have got to prepare. It’s a new team. It’s a new year . . . I hate being compared to that team, even those guys, because they are no longer here.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Some people may read the quote or listen to the video interview and think Quayvon is contradicting himself, but I don’t think so. I think he is just trying to convey just because the 2012 team came up short versus Alabama in 2012 doesn’t mean the 2015 team will. However, where there is a commonality is perhaps in attitude. Of willing to be a part of something bigger than one’s self. To be selfless as he stated and be a team.It reminds me a lot of the team we have now. Just selfless. We had a lot of role players. A lot stars, but when you have a lot stars on page everybody can’t be that star every game.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Furthermore, I think he is a senior who knows that this is his last year he will get to play college football at the University of Georgia. Once this year is in the books, he won’t be strapping on the red and black anymore to compete between the hedges of Sanford. I think he understands what the seniors on that 2012 team must have felt as the sun began to set on their collegiate journey.

[su_spacer size=”40″] After listening to those honest words from the heart of the big ‘ole fullback, I’m ready to strap on the pads again, dig out the cleats from storage and go hit somebody. Quayvon, here’s hoping that you and your teammates fight a good fight on Saturday and come out victorious against the Alabama Crimson Tide to make a satisfying memory to reminisce on.. . . Be selfless and play ball for each other because at the end of the day, the stat books . . . it’s all fine and well, but they are going to have cobwebs on them one day. You want to have those memories in the huddle with your guys. Those plays, you may not remember those, but you will remember fighting and bleeding. The crying and the emotions that you share with the guys next to you.
