University of Georgia gymnast Rachel Baumann has been named the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Freshman of the Week, it was announced Tuesday. 

In Georgia’s win at Missouri, Baumann led the GymDogs on beam to notch her career-high score and earn her first event title with a 9.900. The Plano, Texas native matched her high-score on floor, contributing a 9.850 for Georgia. 

Her sister, Alyssa, who is a sophomore gymnast at Florida, was named the SEC Specialist of the Week. 

Baumann and the GymDogs continue SEC action against the Kentucky Wildcats in Stegeman Coliseum on Friday, February 15 at 7 p.m. live on the SEC Network.
