Linebacker Randall Godfrey, running back Knowshon Moreno and administrator Greg McGarity will be inducted into the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame during ceremonies and a luncheon presented by Ruth’s Chris on Friday, Oct. 27, as part of the Georgia-Florida Weekend.

“We are honored to recognize this year’s class of Hall of Fame inductees,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “Just like the game, the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony has become a long-standing tradition in our city where we celebrate the incredible achievements that make this rivalry one of the best in the country.”

Godfrey was a standout for the Bulldogs in the early 1990s, winning SEC Defensive Freshman of the Year honors in 1992 and All-SEC recognition in 1993 and 1994. Godfrey recorded 365 tackles during his career at Georgia, the eighth-most in school history. His 231 solo tackles ranks third all-time among Bulldog defenders. Godfrey was selected by Dallas in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft and went on eight seasons with the Cowboys, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.

Moreno was named first-team All-SEC in both 2007 and 2008. He was a Freshman All-America honoree after rushing for 1,334 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2007, including 188 yards and three TDs on 33 carries against the Gators that season. Moreno was tabbed All-America by the AFCA the next season when he rushed for 1,400 yards and 16 TDs. Following his redshirt sophomore season, Moreno was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 12th pick of the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

McGarity was named Georgia’s J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics in August 2010 after serving 18 years in the athletic department at the University of Florida. An Athens native, McGarity graduated from Georgia in 1976 and from 1977-92 performed a variety of roles within the UGA Athletic Association – assistant SID, head women’s tennis coach, administrative assistant and assistant AD for facilities and event management. While at Florida from 1992-2010, McGarity served as an associate, senior associate and executive associate AD.

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and defensive back Lito Sheppard will join those Bulldogs to form the hall of fame’s Class of 2017

Created in 1995, the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame honors and recognizes the memorable players, coaches, and administrators involved in the long-standing rivalry. Over the 22-year history of the Hall of Fame, there have been 95 people inducted including legendary Gators Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, Jack Youngblood and Jevon Kearse, as well as Bulldog legends Vince Dooley, Herschel Walker, David Pollack and Buck Belue.

The annual Hall of Fame Luncheon will be held on Friday, Oct. 27 at EverBank Field US Assure West Club.
