Ray Rice recently offered to donate his salary to programs combating domestic violence if a team will give him another chance in the NFL. Rice was suspended for an infamous domestic violence incident in 2014. He was later reinstated, but no team has been willing to sign the former Baltimore Ravens star. The three-time Pro Bowler will speak to Georgia players today, according to Dean Legge of Dawg Post.
Rice recently told ESPN:
“I know that the window for playing is closing. But if my window closes, I’m going to make sure I open up a thousand more opportunities for kids, to give them an opportunity to pick up where I left off. That’s where I’m at. I’ve got three Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl. There’s a lot of people that can’t go out there and do what I did. But I don’t want it to end that way, it’s safe to say.”
Rice’s last NFL salary was approximately $12 million per year. If he signed for the NFL minimum, he would be donating $885,000 to domestic violence programs.
