This is only Georgia’s second appearance in the Rose Bowl game. The Bulldogs first appearance was in the 1943 Rose Bowl following the 1942 college football season. Georgia defeated UCLA by a score of 9-0 on a New Year’s Day Friday.
Now, some 75 years later, another SEC Champion Georgia Bulldogs team returns to Pasadena seeking a Rose Bowl Trophy and a chance to vie for a National Championship. The names have changed and even the designs of the jerseys and helmets, but these 2017 Dogs’ championship hearts bleed red and black just as those of the ’42 team.
