A Look Back
Georgia concluded the regular season at Jack Turner Stadium hosting the Ole Miss Rebels over the weekend. The opener was a nail biter as the game was scoreless going into the bottom of the seventh. The Bulldogs clinched the opening-game victory when Tyler Armistead knocked an RBI triple to drive in the winning run, 1-0. Game two started Saturday but was suspended in the bottom of the first due to weather with the Rebels up 1-0. Down 5-3 with three outs left, Mahlena O’Neal tied the game with a two-RBI single in the seventh then freshman Savana Sikes drove the go-ahead run for the second-straight walk off. The offense put up four-run innings in the first and second of the finale and held the Rebel offense for an 8-0 run rule, securing the Bulldogs’ first sweep of SEC play and fifth series win of the conference slate.
