Georgia’s Freida Lim finished second on platform at the Zone B Diving Championships on Wednesday to earn a spot in next week’s NCAA Championships.
“I was very pleased with Freida’s performance today,” Georgia diving coach Chris Colwill said. “We have been working really hard, especially the last few weeks, on consistency. That showed today on both lists against some good competition. I think we’re on the right track for the NCAAs and hopefully she can do well there.”
On Wednesday at Auburn’s James E. Martin Aquatic Center, Lim completed tower finals with a total score of 582.10 points. She finished second in prelims as well with 282.60 points.
This will be the sophomore’s second straight trip to the national meet.
Lim will join the 10 Georgia swimmers who previously were invited to the NCAAs along with the three relay alternates and diving teammate Mckensi Austin. Austin, who came in 18th on platform Wednesday with 413.30 points, earlier qualified for the NCAAs on the 1- and 3-meter springboards.

Nine Georgia swimmers were listed on the official NCAA Championships men’s psych sheet released on Wednesday.
Seniors Aidan Burns and James Guest; juniors Javier Acevedo, Clayton Forde, Walker Higgins, and Kevin Miller; sophomores Camden Murphy and Greg Reed; and freshman Andrew Abruzzo recovered invitations on Wednesday. The Bulldogs likely will bring seniors Blake Atmore and Alex BeMiller, sophomores Jack Dalmolin and Billy Rothery as relay alternates.
The Bulldogs will be vying for a national title March 27-30 in Austin, Texas.

Acevedo was invited for three events. Guest, Higgins, and Murphy were chosen for two events apiece, while Abruzzo, Burns, Forde, Miller, and Reed were chosen for one each. Swimmers also may compete on up to four of the five relays.
The women’s swimming and diving team travel to Austin next week for its meet March 20-23.
