The No. 2 Georgia women’s tennis team continued its dominating season improving to 18-1 after defeating No. 25 Kentucky 4-0 in their first match of the SEC tournament Wednesday morning.
 
Georgia has now swept 13 opponents out of their 18 matches played this season with 10 of those coming against SEC foes.
 
Doubles was decided by the No. 6 duo of Katarina Jokic and Ariana Arseneault who toppled the No. 1 ranked pairing of Akvile Parazinskaite and Fiona Arrese 7-5 on court one. The Bulldog tandem is 2-0 against the Wildcat duo, defeating them 6-3 as the then No. 6 squad earlier this season and are the only twosome to defeat them. Jokic and Arseneault are now 4-0 this season against top-10 opponents.
 
The path was cleared for Jokic and Arseneault to clinch the doubles point by Morgan Coppoc and Elena Christofi taking care of Carla Girbau and Anastasia Tkachenko 6-2 on court two. Meg Kowalski and Lea Ma went unfinished on court three up 6-5 after starting the match down 1-4.
 
No. 55 Coppoc highlighted singles by being the third Bulldog this season to blank their opponent in straight sets besting Elizabeth Stevens 6-0, 6-0. Kowalski and Jokic are the only other two to conquer this feat so far this season. Before, a 6-0, 6-0 win had not been done by a Bulldog since the 2017 season.
 
No. 16 Kowalski returned to form, dominating Carlota Molina 6-1, 6-0 on court three. The match was clinched by No. 60 Ma, who took down Lesedi Jacobs 6-2, 6-1 on court two, earning her, her third clinch of the season for the Bulldogs. No. 3 Jokic, No. 63 Gonzalez and Chrisotif all went unfinished in their matches.
 
The top seeded Bulldogs will await the results of the match of fifth seed Tennessee and fourth seed LSU and will face the winner Thursday, April 22 at 12 p.m. ET.
