3 Things Savannah Wants to See from Georgia

1: Sea of Red

Since Thursday, there have been folks posting videos and pictures of Georgia fans all over New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Well, I want to see those fans in Tiger Stadium today. The Bulldog Nation seems to have traveled for this top 15 matchup, but will they get in the game. If Georgia can make a sea of red in Tiger Stadium, the atmosphere could end up like the one at Notre Dame. Georgia fans know how to travel, and I expect nothing less than to see at least 15 thousand red shirts. I hope its more as Georgia needs the crowd to be its 12th man for this game. The crowd will play a huge role, and if Georgia takes up a chunk of the 102,321 seats available, then it could get interesting. I’m not saying crowd noise will be the deciding factor, but if the Bulldog nation can show up and be there, it’ll feel more like a home game for the team.

2: Composure and  Discipline

The last few weeks Georgia has been peppered with silly penalties. Those kinds of mistakes cannot happen against a team like LSU, especially on their home field. Both the offense and defense need to keep their composure and stay as disciplined as possible. However, there is a fine line between silly and aggressive penalties, and I’ll welcome aggressive ones all day. But young guys need to know when not to push the opponent again. Don’t throw someone on the ground if you have already heard a whistle. There is going to be a lot of chatter on the field, and the Bulldogs need to let it go in one ear and out the other. If Georgia can stay composed in this big atmosphere, I don’t know that the Tigers can stop them.

3: Turn over Pads Used at Least Twice

Georgia needs to commit at least two turnovers today. This game could very well be decided by who protects the ball more. Deandre Baker, Richard LeCounte, J.R. Reed, D’Andre Walker, etc. need to come out hungry and itching to force a fumble or interception. The Bulldogs whole defense has something to prove this week. Will Georgia impose its will on the Tigers like it did against South Carolina or will it be a shootout? If the Bulldogs can cause a few turnovers that could give them the confidence to play aggressive but smart and show the entire world that they’re a force and ranked No. 2 in the country for a reason.

SL’s Score Prediction

This week  I went back and forth with my score prediction. At first, I thought it would be a tight game and the Bulldogs would show their youth. However, after seeing the team practice and watching LSU film, I think Georgia could blow out the Tigers. It seems we have yet to see what Georgia can do and this is the weekend we finally see it. Georgia made teams quit last season, and this is the game where that switch flips and the team makes the Tigers quit in front of their home crowd.

Georgia beats LSU in Baton Rouge 45-17 and the Bulldogs improve to 7-0 headed into the bye week.
