3 Things to Expect from the Game

1: Experience made

Like the opening game, expect Georgia to play a lot of people and get young players some much needed reps. This game will allow Georgia to focus on covering the pass. There were 17 true-freshmen that played against Austin Peay and that’ll likely happen against the Blue Raiders. Georgia’s defense will rotate those youngsters in and let them get some licks in on the field. We will probably see true freshmen offensive linemen Jamaree Salyer and Trey Hill to get some time. Cade Mays will likely see his first start since starting left-tackle Andrew Thomas appears to be out with an ankle sprain.

2: Don’t Expect a 60 point Game

Georgia’s got plenty of weapons on the offense that can score points. However, unlike many of the other SEC schools out there, the Bulldogs aren’t going to score 60 plus points a game unless they have to. Head coach Kirby Smart has too much respect for these other schools to disrespect them by putting that many points on the board. The Bulldogs will likely tap out at 48 points against opponents because that’s enough points to have a “dominant win” without embarrassing the other team. Smart is all about respect, and that’s for every team big and small.

3: Swift Gets his First 100 yard game of the year

Yes, Georgia has plenty of running backs, and all of them will probably see the field, but D’Andre Swift shines the most. I’m predicting it right now; I think Swift has an explosive play and goes off on the Blue Raiders defense. He’s hungry and ready to break loose. The Bulldogs don’t want this game to last very long, so the best way to run the clock out is running the ball. Sure, Jake Fromm will throw it some, but it’ll likely be a run heavy game.

SL’s Score Prediction

I’ll keep it short and sweet with my prediction this week, 48-10 Georgia handles business and beats the Blue Raiders. Swift will murk on this defense and score two touchdowns. Fromm and his receivers will air it out some and Georgia’s defense is almost perfect. Great matchup before the Bulldogs travel to take on a similar Missouri team.
