3 Things Savannah Wants to See from Georgia

1: Do Your Job!

Georgia has had four huge games in a row, and now it has the Minutemen. The players cannot get complacent against UMass. Both sides of the ball need to come in and make sure no funny business happens. There needs to be a lot of points scored, and the Minutemen offense needs to stay on the sidelines. If everyone does their job, this game will be over quickly as it should be.

2: Utilize the Youth and Let the Studs Rest in the Stable

There is no reason to keep in the starters past halftime if the game is taken care of as it should be. Now, if the Bulldogs let the Minutemen stay in it, that’s one thing, but if the team is up by three or more touchdowns, let’s see some youngsters get some reps.

It is time to see Justin Fields take on consecutive series and see what he can do with the offense. Not to mention, James Cook needs to gain some confidence as well. It would be great to see Fields and Cook have a big second half and get a little more comfortable on the field. I want Cook to finally get in the end zone and score his first collegiate touchdown. He got close early in the season, but two of them were taken back because of penalties. I cannot forget about the defense either, Adam Anderson, Quay Walker, Robert Beal, and so many others have the perfect opportunity to show the coaches how much they’ve learned this season. I would love to see the youth show out on Saturday and show a glimmer of what is to come.

3: Turnovers and Sacks and  a lot of them

Georgia’s last turnover came during the Kentucky game. The Bulldogs are +4 in the turnover margin, but I feel like that is low for the amount of talent on this team. Deandre Baker needs another interception on the season. A strip sack, a forced fumble, or an interception, turnovers need to happen. Turnovers help boost a team’s confidence and this week is a great week to boost a defense confidence. I would love to see two-four turnovers against the Minutemen.

Another thing I would love to see is the Bulldogs put pressure on the UMass quarterback. The Bulldogs have a total of 40 tackles for a loss on the season. Of those 40 TFL, 14 of them are sacks. D’Andre Walker leads the team in TFL and sacks with 7.5 TFL and 5.0 sacks on the season. However, Jonathan Ledbetter is another that has been one to watch. He has 4 TFL and one sack on the season. I would love to see these two guys along with some of the younger ones get in the backfield and get a taste of what it is like to sack a QB in college. The defense continues to improve each week; now it’s time to build the confidence as the team slowly starts to get ready for Alabama.

SL’s Score Prediction

Georgia needs to keep a level head and not overlook UMass and do its job. Jake Fromm and company handle the first half and then let the youngsters have some fun during the second half. The Bulldogs need to score and score early. That way the starters can get some much-needed rest and let the young guys handle its business. Georgia has no issues against the Minutemen and defeats them 45-7. The Bulldogs improve to 10-1 on the season and start focusing on Georgia Tech for the final game of the regular season.
