UGA soccer Head coach Billy Lesesne announced the addition of eleven student-athletes to the Bulldogs on National Signing Day.

The 2018 class looks to add a new level of depth to the Bulldogs’ existing roster. Among the signees are one forward, six midfielders, three defenders, and one goalkeeper including Abby Boyan (Spring Lake, N.J.), Kristen Edmond (Suwanee, Ga.), Weldon Kolker (Atlanta, Ga.), Birdie Lomardo (Jacksonville, Fla.), Shelly McQuaid (Roswell, Ga.), Cecily Mohammed (Atlanta, Ga.), Daniella Murguia (Cleburne, Texas), Hale Otto (McKinney, Texas), Bella Ponzi (Alexandria, Va.), Emory Wegener (Johns Creek, Ga.), and Desiree Woods (Chino Hills, Calif.).

“Our staff is really pleased with the quality of the student-athletes that will be joining our program this fall in Athens,” Lesesne said. “This is a large group of players that will help our program grow. They have individually demonstrated specific qualities that we feel will help them develop into outstanding soccer players. There is tremendous positional flexibility in this class and they all have developed as players in highly successful club systems. We look forward to the excitement and talent these players will bring to Georgia soccer.”

This year’s class consists of players hailing from six states, with five new Bulldogs who already call the Peach State home.

The eleven signees join a young Bulldog squad consisting of 11 sophomores, four juniors, and two seniors.
