After starting the 2018 season on the road, Georgia soccer returns home to Athens for its first two games at the Turner Soccer Complex on Friday, August 24 at 6 p.m. against Indiana and Sunday, August 26 at 2 p.m. against Charlotte.
Friday’s game versus Indiana will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
Georgia opened the season with a 1-0 loss to then-No. 22 Georgetown on Friday, August 17, but bounced back to close out the weekend with a 1-0 win over San Diego on Sunday.
Six freshmen Bulldogs made their starting lineup debut during opening weekend, including Emory Wegener in goal and Cecily Stoute on defense, while Abby Boyan, Weldon Kolker, and Bella Ponzi, and Dani Murguia played at midfield.
A Homecoming for Indiana Head Coach Amy Berbary
» Indiana’s head coach Amy Berbary is a Georgia soccer alum (1998-2001). She was named the third head coach in Indiana Women’s Soccer history on Feb. 6, 2013, after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant coach at Auburn University.
» At Indiana, Berbary has coached two NSCAA All-Region selections, two All-Big Ten picks, as well as 75 Academic All-Big Ten honorees and eight Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team members. In addition, under her leadership the team has won four Herbert Cups, an accolade given to the Indiana team with the highest GPA, and three NSCAA Team Academic Awards.
» She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2002 with a degree in Health Promotion and Wellness Education.

INDIANA SERIES HISTORY: Another First
This is the first time in program hstory that the Bulldogs will face Indiana. The Bulldogs began the season with two series openers against Georgetown and San Diego.
CHARLOTTE SERIES HISTORY: Keep It Going
Georgia is undefeated against Charlotte. In five previous meetings, the Bulldogs have come out victorious three times on the road and twice at home with hopes to balance that record on Sunday.
Scouting Indiana
» After its first scheduled game of the season against Wake Forest was rained out on Friday, Aug. 17, Indiana opened its 2018 campaign with a 3-0 win over Miano (Ohio).
» All three IU goals were scored within 18 minutes of each other in the first half.
» Senior Abby Allen led the way for Indiana as she scored and added an assist. Redshirt senior Annelie Leitner and sophomore Grace Geise also found the back of the net while sophomore goalkeeper Bethany Kopel had four saves as she preserved the shutout.
» Indiana redshirt senior Mykayla Brown, senior Maya Piper and junior Chandra Davidson were awarded Big Ten Preseason honors.

» Charlotte will play Akron at home on Friday, Aug. 24 before making the trip to Athens
» Riley Orr was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week after helping Charlotte to a season-opening shutout
» Both games of opening were played into overtime with Charlotte winning the first one against Longwood and losing the second one, on the road, to VCU.
Student- Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Reps
Ashley Andersen, Jessica Denney, and Katie Higgins will represent the soccer team on SAAC this year.
SEC Preseason Watch List
Senior Sydney Shultis and sophomores Kayla Bruster, Caroline Chipman, and Reagan Glisson were named to the Southeastern Conference Preseason Watch List. This is the first preseason honor for all four Bulldogs.
Promotions
The first 250 fans will receive a free t-shirt and the Bulldogs will sign autographs following the game. Additionally, the first 400 fans at Sunday’s game against Charlotte will receive a pair of sunglasses and samples from Smoothie King will be available.
