Georgia soccer topped Lipscomb, 3-0, in a steady rain on Friday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in the Music City.

It was a night of firsts as the game marked the first time Georgia (3-2) faced Lipscomb (1-3-1) in program history and three Bulldogs scored the first goals of their Georgia career, including senior Alex Pallo, freshman Delaney Erwin, and freshman Reagan Glisson.

The game notched Georgia’s third shutout and second road win with the Bulldogs improving to 3-2 on the season.

“This is a great result,” head coach Billy Lesesne said. “It’s great to score three goals, especially in these weather conditions. They got a lot of rain last night and we didn’t know about the field conditions today. When we settled down we played well and created chances. For the first time this year we were able to put away multiple chances, so hopefully, this gives us confidence going into Sunday’s game against Clemson. Overall, this is a great win and we’re eager to keep building.”

Georgia took a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute of the game when freshman Delaney Erwin sent a cross to senior Alex Pallo who shot from outside the box for the score.

The Bulldogs continued applying the pressure in the second half, scoring two more goals in the final 45 minutes of play. Senior Kelsey Killean went on a breakaway in the 58th minute and passed the ball to Erwin for the finish. Freshman Reagan Glisson scored the Bulldogs’ third goal of the match off a pass from freshman Katie Ralys with 14 minutes remaining.

The Bulldogs held the Lady Bison to one corner kick and out-shot their opponent 14-8.
