[su_spacer size=”20″] Sophomore goalkeeper Louise Hogrell picked up her second honor of the week after TopDrawerSoccer.com named her a national honorable mention player of the week on Tuesday.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Hogrell was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after Georgia’s two-win weekend. The Asa, Sweden native collected 11 saves on the weekend, conceding only one total goal in Georgia’s crucial wins at Vanderbilt and No. 16 Auburn.
[su_spacer size=”40″] She started off the weekend holding Vanderbilt scoreless for the first 73 minutes before the Commodores snuck in a late goal in desperation mode. Hogrell continued her hot streak by shutting out No. 16 Auburn on the road, 1-0. The sophomore made several spectacular saves throughout the game, handing the Tigers their first home loss of the 2015 season.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The Bulldog’s 1-0 win marked only the third time this season that the Tigers had been shutout. It was Hogrell’s fourth shutout on the year.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia is back in action this tonight at 7 p.m. ET hosting rival Florida. The game will be televised nationally on the SEC Network.
