[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia soccer team is set to host two Southeastern Conference games this weekend against Arkansas on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and No. 4 Texas A&M on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

 

Fans unable to attend the games will have access to watch both matches. Friday’s game will be shown live on SEC Network+. ESPNU will broadcast the Bulldogs’ game against Texas A&M, marking the second of three games to be shown on national television this season.

 

Last Time Out: The Bulldogs lost 4-3 in a high-scoring affair on the road to LSU. The Tigers were the first on the scoreboard in the sixth minute, but the next 30 minutes was all Bulldogs. Sophomore Becca Rasmussen scored the first goal of her career in the 12’ after a double assist from Andie Fontanetta and Mariel Gutierrez. Just 22 seconds later, the Bulldogs were fouled in the Tigers’ box and awarded a penalty kick. Senior defender Bella Hartley drilled her second PK of the season giving Georgia a 2-1 lead. The final Bulldog goal came from Kelsey Killean in the 30’ only several seconds after she checked into the game.

 

Unfortunately a late three-goal rally put the Tigers up 4-3 in the 78’. The Bulldogs’ late push came up short and they were unable to steal the SEC road victory.

 

Looking at the Razorbacks: Arkansas (4-5-0, 0-2) enters the contest looking for its first SEC win.  The Razorbacks fell in their first two conference games against Tennessee and Mississippi State.

 

The team is led by two of its upperclassmen on offense. Senior Ashleigh Ellenwood and junior Claire Kelley have combined for nine of the team’s fifteen goals this season. The Razorbacks rank 12^th in the SEC with 13 goals allowed this year.

 

Georgia holds an all-time record of 11-2-4 against the Razorbacks. The teams tied last season 1-1 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

 

Looking at the Aggies: Texas A&M (9-1-0, 2-0) comes in ranked No. 4 in the country. The Aggies’ lone loss on the season came on the road to fifth-ranked Florida State.

 

Texas A&M is one of the highest scoring teams in the SEC with 26 goals on the year. Ten different Aggies have scored a goal this season, led by Haley Pounds with seven. Pounds’ seven goals ties her for fourth-best in the conference. The Aggies also rank as one of the top defensive teams in the conference having allowed only nine goals so far.

 

Georgia has never defeated Texas A&M in the schools’ four meetings. The Aggies won last season 3-0. The Bulldogs are 1-11-0 all-time against top-5 ranked teams. Their last win against a top-5 team came in 2009 against No. 5 South Carolina.
