UGA’s soccer team will travel to Greenville, SC today to face South Carolina at 12 Noon followed by a half game scrimmage versus Furman at 3:00 p.m. to continue its spring season.
Earlier this spring, Georgia defeated the University of North Florida, 3-0, and played to a 1-1 tie against Jacksonville University at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Gamecocks are coming off a NCAA Elite 8 appearance this past season, finishing the year 21-2-1 overall. South Carolina finished the regular sea
son undefeated in SEC action, but lost, 1-0, to the Florida Gators in the SEC championship game.
Georgia defeated Furman, 4-1, in an exhibition game prior to the start of the 2016 season. The Paladins went on to a 13-5-1 record before their season ended with a 2-1 loss to Samford in the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament.
Due to the construction of a new grandstand and press box at the Turner Soccer Complex, all games this spring will be played away from Athens.
UGA returns to action on March 25 against Mercer in Macon.
