The head softball coaches of the Southeastern Conference have voted Georgia shortstop Alyssa DiCarlo to the Preseason All-SEC Team.
DiCarlo, a senior from Glendale, Arizona, earned Third Team NFCA All-American status a season ago. As a junior, she knocked 21 home runs, a figured that led the SEC in 2018. She hit .400 as a junior while driving in 67 runs to rank second in the league. DiCarlo scattered 72 total hits and recorded a .498 on-base percentage with a .850 slugging percentage, the highest in the SEC.
Entering her senior campaign, DiCarlo has amassed 45 career home runs, 194 RBI, and is a .377 career hitter for Georgia.
The Preseason All-SEC Softball Team is voted on by the league’s head coaches and consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each SEC head coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility. No ties were broken.
DiCarlo and the Georgia softball team begins the 2019 season Feb. 8 in Boca Raton, Florida.
