The No. 8/7 Georgia softball team is set to take part in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Challenge in Cathedral City, Calif., this weekend, Feb. 19-21. While there, the Bulldogs will take on a trio of ranked teams including No. 25/RV Texas, No. 4/3 Oklahoma and No. 24/23 Notre Dame. Georgia will also face Indiana. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a perfect 10-0 record.

[break] [break] IN CATHEDRAL CITYGeorgia has been playing in Cathedral City/Palm Springs since 2004 and owns a 17-11 all-time record. The team last took park in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Challenge in 2013 when the Bulldogs went 1-4.

Georgia has run-ruled eight of its 10 opponents this season. In addition, the Bulldogs have shutout six of its opponents this year. In 10 games, Georgia has out scored its competition 90-15 this season.

Chelsea Wilkinson leads the SEC in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched. She has seven wins on the year, 54 strikeouts and 38.1 innings in the circle.

Kaylee Puailoa and Tina Iosefa are making a homecoming of sort this weekend. Both players are returning to their home state for the first time since their freshman year. Puailoa hails from Buena Park, Calif., and Iosefa is from Lynwood, Calif.

Georgia continues it road swing when it travels to Savannah, Ga., to face Savannah State before hitting the road to Orlando, Fla., for the Citrus Classic next weekend. While in the sunshine state, the Bulldogs will take on Indiana, James Madison, Penn State, Fordham and Nebraska-Omaha.
